Loopmasters Launches Loopcloud 8, the Biggest Update Yet to Its Sample and Workflow Platform
New tools help producers generate starting points, find harmonically matched sounds, and search using your own words, alongside Loopcloud’s first iOS app
Brighton, UK, October 22, 2026 — Loopmasters today released Loopcloud 8, a major update to its sample subscription and production platform used by producers worldwide. Headline additions include Inspire and Listen, intelligent tools for idea generation and harmonic matching, as well as Advanced Search and Loopcloud’s first iOS app. The update also adds five new effects, 1,000 new presets for Flip, Loopcloud’s sound-remixing tool, a MIDI overhaul with a new preview engine, upgrades to DRUM and PLAY, and access to Producertech video tutorials for every subscriber.
Loopcloud 8 arrives as producers increasingly pull in their own sounds and work across more tools, not just from a single source. The update is built around that shift, with search, discovery, and instruments that work as well with a producer’s own collection as they do with Loopcloud’s catalogue of more than four million samples, synth presets, and MIDI files.
“Loopcloud 8 is built to help producers finish ideas faster, whether they’re searching in their own words, starting with Inspire, or using Listen to find the last sound a track needs,” says Matt Pelling, CEO of Loopmasters. “This is the most complete version of Loopcloud we’ve released to date.”
From Idea to Finished Track
Inspire gives producers a starting point for a new track. Choose a genre, and it builds an arrangement of authentic samples, chords, and drums designed to spark an idea while leaving the creative decisions that follow to the producer.
Listen helps at the other end of the process by finding sounds that fit a track already underway. It analyzes a producer’s track and uses Loopcloud Intelligence, the platform’s harmonic-matching algorithm, to surface samples that work harmonically and melodically with what is already there. The latest version detects chord changes and sample positioning and can match against a producer’s own imported sounds as well as the Loopcloud catalogue. Users can drop in a chord loop or melody to find basslines, leads, or one-shots, then filter the results by genre or instrument.

“Listen has been particularly useful in helping me narrow down sounds much faster based on the direction of a project,” said Saint Evo, a Loopcloud beta tester. “I’ve found it equally useful when starting a new idea and when I’m in the final stages of a project looking for that elusive ‘cherry on top’ to complete the sound.”
Advanced Search offers another route to the right sound by recognizing descriptions, not just tags. Producers can enter phrases such as “warm analog bassline,” “vinyl-crackle boom bap drums,” or “Boards of Canada-style synths” rather than digging through folders or guessing at tag names. Results can be narrowed by instrument, genre, mood, or artist reference.
Loopcloud Goes Mobile
Loopcloud’s first iOS app brings Inspire, catalogue browsing, previewing, and collection-building to mobile. Producers can generate starting points, browse and preview sounds from the full Loopcloud catalogue, and save collections on the go. Those collections sync with their Loopcloud account and are ready when they return to the DAW. Ideas don’t wait for a studio session, so now neither does Loopcloud. The app is available at launch on iOS, with an Android version in development.
Expanded Production Tools
Loopcloud 8 adds five new effects:
- Gator: a step sequencer with swing, tied runs, and randomization, for rhythmic gating and movement.
- Looper: BPM-synced loop size with adjustable speed, direction, and gate control.
- Utility: gain, pan, width, and mono-bass in one effect.
- Chorus: a new addition to the effects chain for width and depth.
- Bitcrush: a crunchy, digital distortion effect.

Producers can shape and experiment with sound before spending a single credit. New automation curves give finer control over how effects evolve over time, and the Loopcloud editor works with a producer’s entire sample library, not just Loopcloud content.
Flip takes any sound and reworks it into something new. Loopcloud 8 doubles Flip’s preset library to 2,000, with every preset built for a specific instrument or sound type, though mixing and matching across categories is where some of the best results turn up.
Loopcloud’s MIDI library now includes more than 125,000 files, including roughly 8,000 drum patterns. Six new kits add genre-specific sounds for drum MIDI, alongside new melodic instruments. When previewing MIDI, Loopcloud automatically loads an appropriate sound: a drum part loads a drum kit, while a piano part loads a piano.
PLAY, Loopcloud’s sample-based instrument, adds five new effects and now supports importing samples directly. Drop in a vocal chop, a field recording, or a one-off from a session years ago, and it is ready to use in PLAY. DRUM’s pattern generator now reads instrument and genre tags, allowing it to suggest patterns that fit the loaded sounds rather than selecting them at random.
